IMATS!!!

Today I had a fabulous day at the IMATS show with the lovely girls from Face On
It was my first visit to the show. It was great to see some familiar faces, finally put faces to talented artists and check out all of the products.
I must be honest I thought it was going to be larger and like many trade shows it was over crowded making it a challenge to find the products that you are after (lets not even go there on the toilet queue!) But the creativity was flowing and it was a inspiring day out.
Highlights
If you are going tomorrow I’d highly recommend bringing proof of trade and heading to the Illamasqua stand to find out how to get a trade discount of up to 40%!!!!

Also with proofs you can sign up to the Dermologica artist’s insider scheme for discounts and free products/sample and news. Stupidly I only brought myself and missed out on signing up but will be joining online.

Dinair airbrush kit- I know several people who
have shipped this super light weight airbrush and compressor set over from the states and incurred huge costs but now Guru are selling the airbrush set for a staggering price of £250 and only £200 at the show!! I think this is a great little airbrush, it’s not super powerful but is this a drawback for cosmetic use? My foundations kit actually weighs more than this whole set up! It comes with every thing a beginner would need, air brush, compressor, 8 colours, air brush moisturiser, airbrush cleaner, stencils and instructional DVD. You can even buy a battery pack and easily take this little baby on location!

The art of make up- The London academy of freelance make up was there demonstrating and selling their amazing book “The art of make up”. This is a beautiful book which I think is a great inspiration photographically as well as with in make up.

Tip- they are selling Alex Box and Rankin’s AMAZING book there but you can get it at almost half of the price at Amazon!!

Oh wow lets not forget the student competition. The theme was Alice in Wonderland. Beautiful entries! I am inspired to go and create something totally CRAZY now!
I will update this post with some shots soon!

Review- vegan and paraben free amaZene body care with a 15% discount to all my readers!!!!!!!
I I was lucky enough to receive some products from Organic beauty company amaZene this week.

And to top it off my readers get a 15% discount on all products when purchased at http://www.amaZene.comIf they register and put code LB15DISC in the company name!!!!!!
In urban environments saturated in unavoidable chemicals clever beauty lovers are ditching the toxic cosmetics and seeking the power of nature; pure, paraben and sulphate free products-
Taken from www.amaZene.com-
On average, we subject our skin to around 200 chemicals as part of our daily cleansing routines. Many of these products contain harsh, synthetic content such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate (a very common foaming agent used in products such as liquid soaps and shower gels) and parabens (Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, etc), which are used to preserve the products.
The majority of the active ingredients in Amazene products are organic and sourced directly from the fertile Amazon rainforest; I was excited to see what benefits this would bring to the products!
Murumuru is an amazing tongue twister but what is it and what does it do?

Well, I found out that Murumuru is a native Amazonian tree, its extracts are rich in oleic acid which helps to hydrate the skin.

The texture is very light weight and quickly absorbed.

When I first smelt the body lotion I was a bit overwhelmed which was a turn off but my husband smelt it on me and said “you smell gorgeous, what perfume are you wearing?”. Its grown on me and smells very nice on the skin. You can really smell the sweet mango, I found it a very energising scent.

The scent in the scrub is probably the mildest, then the butter and I found the lotion strongest.
These products are very natural and high quality and contain organic ingredients but are not fully organic as very few beauty products can be. I have looked through the ingredients and am happy that I did not notice any potential nasties which often hide in natural beauty products such as mineral oil, DEA (ammonia compounds) although they do contain synthetic colours
I am still unsure what the granules in this scrub are made from, they are a nice size for a stimulating body exfoliation.
I love the small readable ingredients list of all of these natural products, its so refreshing compared to some beauty products that read like rocket fuel of some kind!
Coconut/Palm, Mango seed butter, Glycerine (coconut), Murumuru, Açai etc

The texture of this rich body butter is luscious. Where as some body butters can really sit unabsorbed on the top of skin this felt rich and luxurious but sunk in quickly with no residue.
